but in any case, soon could be anything from a few minutes to a few hours - and vash has a very good idea that it might be more latter than former, considering the amount of work mitsuru likes to take on daily. not that he has any good idea of that exactly, but she seems like the type to be, no? especially with shinjiro's sudden absence it appears that mitsuru is doing all her best to busy herself with distractions.
with that, vash has a sudden idea; maybe he could make something for mitsuru to take home when she comes to pick up eleanor??? if she's this busy enough to need a pet sitter for the day, it's unlikely that mitsuru has eaten properly today - so perhaps something easy to eat ... soup, perhaps. it's not like he has a lot of cooking ingredients laying around but that's easy enough to make, and there's still half a loaf of bread he's bought. that sounds pretty good, right? he immediately gets to work - vash is, after all, a stubborn type who gets an idea into their head and can't leave off until it's done. a good thing that he's tried to make more of an effort into trying cooking, because it's done in a surprisingly short amount of time (or so he thinks), and vash steps away from the pot to look around for a container; he's pretty sure there is a thermos somewhere ...
so far, so good. except vash's usual run of bad luck really takes effect here. the thermos top slips out of his hand as he attempts to unscrew it, and falls right into the pot of soup to splash it all down the front of his shirt. hot, hot, hot!!
letting out a small sound of annoyance vash steps back away from the stove, taking off the sopping, dirty turtleneck and throwing it down on the mess on the floor just in case eleanor decides to come out of the bedroom to investigate all the clattering noise of stuff falling. sorry, he can't hear the door!!!!! ]
