>Ken has found himself in a very difficult situtation. He hasn't been doing any studying since he arrived here as there were more important thing to do during this time here. What was he going to do?
>Lie >Distract her >Be Honest
>Lie Ken wishes he could but he does not have enough courage for it.
>Distract her He could but he also wonders if it would be a matter of time before she decides to execute her for such distractions.
[Alas, if he could lie without getting himself executed by her. As he kept staring at the screen, he didn't know what to say. And instead, gave a big long sigh.]
Y-Yes, it is. I....haven't been keeping up with my academics.....
[ There is a lengthy pause on her end of the line. Tense, foreboding…
But when she speaks again, her tone is clipped, business-like… ]
We have a lot of work to do. In fact I think it’s best if we begin tomorrow.
We’ll start with the core subjects - mathematics, Japanese, basic sciences before we then move on to incorporate history, geography, economics etc. We’ll have a test at the end of each week to check your progression and retention of the material we’ve gone over.
You can come here for tuition. I would come to you but I think you actually leaving where you’re staying to attend at an another location will better simulate leaving to attend school as you would back home.
We should also look at extra curricular activities for you now that I think of it… It’ll look much better on a college application when it comes to it.
[ Which is… years away.
Is she leaving any room for objection to any of this? Absolutely not. ]
I suppose I'll go to where you are if it will help with location...
[As Ken continued to stare at the screen, he really wanted to say something. However, he knew he couldn't. In her eyes, education was important and paramount. It was above everything else. There was a reason why he was one of the top students back home and this was one of them. Here, he thought he could relax and spend some more time as a kid here.
And yet, he wondered if one could argue that spending more time on education was a way of being a normal kid too. Oh, what a dilemma Ken was dealing with.]
However, does those extracurricular activities include some of the clubs that Kotone-san has made and joined?
[Because he has been involved a little bit more with baking!! And cooking a bit!! At least he could use it to his advantage and have a somewhat decent social life here!!]
I suppose it depends on the nature of those clubs.
If it involves you running off into the woods or wherever else at a moment's notice to fight monsters then you should know very well that doesn't count. Nor will that be permitted during your scheduled hours for study.
[ She and Akihiko could never put fighting Shadows on their college applications after all. ]
It's nothing that dangerous! Most of it is cooking or sewing!
[There was the whole other club where there were teenagers who did things like going out to help people or hanging out but he'll keep that to himself.]

Well, I'm quite partial to sweet things. However I will be appreciative of anything you get for me.

If you say so, I think you and Kotone-san are being way too confident about me.

...Speaking of standards, I meant to ask sometime ago - how have you been getting along with your studies since you've been here?
[ Yes, she's just assuming he's been keeping up with them because why wouldn't you? ]

......No, I haven't.
[And he'll just sit here and wait for his doom.]

Apologies, Amada. I thought I just heard you admit to me that you haven't been keeping up with your studies since you arrived here...?
[ A very pointed pause. ]
...
That can't be correct, can it?
