Hey co-owner I had an idea I want to run by you
Everyone I know is burying themselves in some major guilt trips after everything that just happened, so I was thinking we should do something to break the mood and maybe cheer people up

How about we host a free night at the casino? The chips don't have to mean anything, we can just let people play. And maybe I can finally kick off my fighting tournament

Aside from cheering people up, which I agree is greatly needed, it might also help drum up future clientele…

[ Like any other teenage girl, Toph absolutely cares about how she looks, but being forced to rely on other people to reassure her grates against her independence and pride. The end result is that she pretends to a gruff uncaring attitude that is half true, and half secretly self-conscious. ]

[ Surprise, surprise. You know, because she's really been enjoying wearing those around the casino lately. ]

Just because you can't actually see what you're wearing doesn't mean you should go without when it comes to dressing up for an occasion like this. It can actually be quite fun.

[ Especially now that she's actually getting to pick her own clothes, rather than a stylist. ]

Okay, well, full honesty, I don't know what a suit is
I can get a lot of detail with my senses but not with fabric

So I'm guessing a lot... and people here wear a lot of stuff we don't have at home

[ Toph trusts Mitsuru enough to admit to this limitation. And maybe it helps that she's an older girl in some indefinable way, like when she and Katara had dressed up to sneak into that party. She trusts her judgment more than some idiot teenage boy, that's for sure. ]

[ And Mitsuru appreciates the admittance, because in the short time she's known Toph she's already gotten the impression that her admitting to any kind of limitation is a Big Deal. Kind of reminds her of someone... ]

It usually compromises of a tailored jacket paired with trousers or a skirt of identical fabric. One would normally wear some kind of dress shirt underneath the jacket. Where I come from they're usually worn for formal or business occasions.

I'm not sure if any of that is helping you to picture it at all but you're welcome to come with me next time I go to pick some out if you like.

I can picture it, but yeah, it's easiest if I can feel it in person.

I don't like to make a big deal out of it cause then people start treating me like I need help with EVERYTHING but it's nice to feel things the old fashioned way sometimes.

Regrettably, yes. Age or gender have often been areas of concern.

[ And you know, since Toph has shared a subject that is clearly not great for her, maybe it's Mitsuru's turn. ]

I believe those were factors in my Group's decision to seek out a
fiancé for me.

I did, at first. I just wanted to do what I thought was best for the Group. It was in rather a precarious position after my father died. [ That one still hurts to talk about although she's getting better at it. Slowly. ]

It was felt that an alliance was needed by means of the marriage.

That was until I realised what an utter swine my fiancé was and that I was more than capable of leading without his and his family's influence.

I did what my parents wanted at first too
I didn't really think about it until Aang came along and asked me to do something different
I'm their only child so I thought I had to, you know?

But I don't have to do anything. And you don't, either.
I know you can lead a company by yourself.

I'm also an only child so I recognise that burden.
Perhaps we have more in common than I initially realised.
